When you spend as much time on the road as Greg and I spent, you develop a certain type of friendship with persons you know you won't see very often. You both stay so busy - on the road, working the festivals, creating content for the festivals, planning for future festivals - that routine check-ins take a back seat. Unfortunately! You're pretty much the proverbial "ships that pass in the night."
Nevertheless, sometimes your friendship transcends those fleeting moments of togetherness. And today I mourn the loss of one such friend. She actually passed two weeks ago, but because of the unique nature of our friendship, I only just now found out.
RIP, Gail Glover Allen. You'll always be as dear to me as a sister.
